Prom Hair Inspiration

Prom is Friday. This Friday. Help. Prom is so stressful, okay? Any girl who says they're not worried at all is a liar. Anyway, my hair has been worrying me so my fabulous hairdresser asked for inspiration from ideas I liked from google and pinterest. I wanted to share these pictures before I show you the final result.

1.. I like this a lot. I think it looks more difficult than it really is but I would have no idea where to start. It's very boho and on-trend. I love the massive chunky plait and the scruffiness, two things I want to incorporate into my hair.

2.. I found this on Pinterest, another braided one. However it's too bride-like and I wanted to create more texture. God, I'm so fussy.. Also, I love the flowers (who doesn't like a flower crown?) but just not for prom.

3.. I like that this is quite feathery and messy, I like the messy hair idea personally. I also really like the little braid in-between the layers which I intend to use in my hair.

4. This is probably the closest to what I wanted. It's just so perfect and elegant which I definitely need more of. I love the mixture between lose and tight curls and the twists. I might use this for my future wedding too, haha.

My actual prom hair (drumroll please):

Excuse the split ends, this was just before my trim but it's just what I wanted. I used the curls, miniature plaits, twists and definite scruffiness for this look, or my hairdresser did.. I wish I was this talented. *sad face*.

Life Update #1

Well I've been a lousy blogger this month. It's not that I don't want to blog, I love it! It's just a lot is going on right now and things are crazy. So this is a life update just to let you know what's been going on.

I'm finally finished but it's been exam season which 100% sucks. I've had 11 exams over the past two months (yay!) and it makes me very stressy and unhappy. It also annoyed me that I had the last exam in the country, everyone in my friendship group had finished 2 weeks before me. Despite this, we've all been trying to socialize more because we generally don't we just have a 17 person group chat on Facebook. I have literally had no time to blog but have had so many ideas that it's been driving me insane. I am literally about to write about 15 posts to queue for this month as a huge apology and so I can clear my guilty conscience.

I've also been to three concerts. The first was Little Mix's Salute tour at the O2 with my best friend which was absolutely incredible. I just love their sass, girl power and their music. Salute is quite possibly one of my favourite albums of all time. As well as that I've seen The Eagles also at the O2 and Rod Stewart at Brighton Amex with my Dad. Not really my cup of tea but I still enjoyed them because live music is just the great no matter what it is.

Obviously, I have been part of the TFiOS madness too. If you don't know what that is and have been living under a rock it's the film adaption of John Green's 'The Fault In Our Stars' a bestselling book. It's not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be, in fact it's so real and very emotional. I cried for the whole movie.. Even my friends with no feelings cried. I've also re-read the book over the past month and managed to do it in just 6 hours (that's got to be a record right?).

Reading is a priority too. After learning how difficult A Level English is going to be, I want to help myself out as much as possible. I have the Divergent series to read and I have to finish the great Morganville Vampires series too. At some point I want to re-read Harry Potter too and my Grandad has let me borrow the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones books. There's tv to catch up on too, specifically How I Met Your Mother even though I am so furious about the ending I need to rant about it after it airs in the UK so expect that soon.

I've been shopping, a lot. I may have a large haul to post as well as mini reviews for various products. I have bought more than I usually do. I feel like after working hard for the exam season I need to treat myself, so I have. OOPS.

Probably the scariest of all though is prom. Ugh. You know the thing we're supposed to love and be excited for and get all girly? I wanted all that about 3 years ago but now I'd rather not bother and avoid the stress. The only thing that's making me go is that fact that I would regret it as a lonely old woman. So it's been dress panic, shoes panic, bag panic, hair panic; the list is endless. Right, excuses over, I should get back to blogging. I've missed it too much!
